Automattic introduced a brand-new advertisement network called Blaze which positions advertising on free WordPress.com sites and Tumblr. Advertising starts at $5/month.
Automattic is the business behind WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Akismet, Tumblr and other business.
It was established by Matt Mullenweg, the entrepreneur who developed the totally free WordPress open-source material management system (CMS).
Blaze Marketing Network
The advertising network was initially presented in April 2022 as a network exclusively for Tumblr users to place advertisements on other Tumblr pages.
Automattic announced that the network is now expanded to bloggers on WordPress.com and WordPress self-hosted publishers who have the Automattic Jetpack WordPress plugin installed.
Publishers on WordPress.com will be able to use the WordPress control panel at wordpress.com/advertising to get started picking pages to market.
Marketing payment is for impressions, not clicks.
Those who are using the WordPress CMS can access Blaze through the Jetpack plugin.
If Jetpack isn’t currently set up then it needs to be set up, either the totally free or superior version works.
Those who are using Jetpack can then begin the campaign from the WordPress.com control panel at https://wordpress.com/home.
From there a user browses to the Posts or the Pages screen and scrolls down to pick the posts or pages for advertising, clicking on a three-dot (ellipsis) menu to pick the Promote with Blaze choice.
The interface permits advertisers to choose the audience that will see the ads. Audience choice is segmented by what continent the advertisements will appear in, what kinds of gadgets will see the advertisements (mobile or desktop) and by what subject the advertisements will be displayed in.
Ads Are Revealed The advertising can appear from among millions of Tumblr and free WordPress.com web pages. Management of the Blaze ad campaign is done through the dashboard interface at wordpress.com/advertising.
The projects are established by a day-to-day budget and by dates that the advertising will be shown. Blaze advertisements include a title, a snippet and an image.
According to the Blaze assistance page:”Title: This appears above your image and as bolded text. You can write an optimum of 80 characters here, utilize them wisely to record the viewer’s attention.
Bit: A brief text description of your post that appears underneath your image. You can compose a maximum of 120 characters here. We suggest using this text to support your headline and offer viewers more context about what they will see when they click the ad and come to your material.
Image: Upload an image to represent your post. You can use the crop tool to change your image’s look in the advertisement.”
